Joining the School
Chipping Campden School is a non-selective Secondary Academy offering a broad and comprehensive curriculum. The School is the Admission Authority, acting in accordance with DfE School Admissions Code.
Secondary transition (Entry into Year 7/September)
Applications for transition to Secondary School should be made to your home Local Authority by the deadline for Secondary Applications of 31st October annually. Applications received after this date will be treated as a late application and will not be considered until all other applications have been processed.
Applications For Current Year 7-10
The School is currently oversubscribed in all Year Groups, with Waiting Lists for places. In order to apply for place on the waiting list, please complete the In Year Admissions Application Form which can be downloaded below and submit it to office@campden.school together with proof of your home address and proof of your child’s date of birth please. We will not process applications without these documents being provided at the time of receipt.
If You Are Offered a Place
If your application is successful, you will receive a written offer from the school. The letter will include:
- confirmation of the place offered
- the date by which you must accept or decline the offer
- any next steps required (such as completing admission forms or arranging a start date).
Please ensure you respond within the stated timeframe so that the place can be secured. If we do not hear from you, the offer may be withdrawn in line with the School Admissions Code.
If Your Application Is Unsuccessful
As an Own Admission Authority, the Governing Body is responsible for making decisions on applications. If we are unable to offer a place, you will receive a written refusal explaining the reason(s) why.
Your Right to Appeal
If your child is refused a place, you have the legal right to appeal the decision to an Independent Appeals Panel.
The school is responsible for:
- informing you of your right to appeal,
- providing details of how to submit an appeal,
- ensuring the appeal is arranged in line with the School Admissions Appeals Code
Appeals are completely independent of the school and the Governing Body. The panel will consider your case and the school’s case before making a final decision.

We welcome applications from outside of our priority Catchment Area. Admissions are processed strictly in accordance with our Published Admissions Criteria. Sixth Form Admissions
Chipping Campden School offers a wide range of both A Level and Cambridge Technical qualifications. The agreed funding capacity for the Sixth Form is for a total of 350 students across Years 12 & 13. We expect to respond to the needs of those students who follow the application process and meet the entry requirements for their chosen courses. A sufficient number of places are available to provide for all Year 11 students already at the School, who wish to continue their Post-16 studies with us, subject to minimum entry requirements as detailed below.
We continue to welcome applicants from other schools who wish to undertake post-16 studies at Chipping Campden School, where places are available and subject to the same minimum entry requirements as detailed below.
A Sixth Form Open Evening is held annually, usually on the first Thursday in November.
