Exam Results
GCSE Success at Chipping Campden School
Thursday 22nd August 2024
Chipping Campden School is celebrating another year of examination success, with staff and parents gathering to watch students enjoy the momentous occasion.
Principal, Gareth Burton, said: “Our Year 11 students have worked tremendously hard and deserve the excellent results that they will receive today. The performance of students across the year group is a further increase on 2023 results, with almost one quarter (24%) of all grades awarded being 9-7, and almost three-quarters of all students (73%) achieving at least a grade 4 in both English and Maths. Additionally, our school’s ‘Attainment 8’ score, which measures students’ performance in their best 8 subjects, is a further increase on the 2023 equivalent, which is a testament to students’ ability to balance the requirements of studying at such a high level across so many different qualifications at the same time, particularly given the increased number of individual papers that students now need to sit to complete their GCSEs.”
“Several of our students have overcome significant challenges throughout their time with us, and it is delightful to see them receive such outstanding results, enabling them to advance in pursuit of their chosen career.”
“For a large majority of our students, the next step in their education will be to remain with us at our outstanding Sixth Form, and we very much look forward to supporting them in the next two years of their study. Enrolment into our Sixth Form beings today and any queries in relation to this should be directed to Rob Elmes (Vice Principal and Head of Sixth Form) in the first instance, who can be contacted at relmes@campden.school”.
Chipping Campden Students Celebrate Top Grades At A Level
Thursday 15th August 2024
It was all smiles and celebrations at Chipping Campden School this morning, as Year 13 students received their eagerly anticipated A Level results.
Principal, Gareth Burton, said: “I am absolutely thrilled with the performance of our Year 13 students this year. The determination and hard work they have shown over the past two years has enabled them to achieve outstanding results, setting them up for the next step in their lives.”
“I’d like to congratulate all our students who received their results today and wish them well for whatever they progress on to next. I’d also like to extend my thanks to our students’ families for their support, and recognise our exceptional staff who have provided their time, expertise and inspiration, in support of our Year 13 students.”
“Overall, around a quarter (24%) of all grades awarded were either A* or A grades, with some exceptional performances from many of our students. 17% of our students achieved an average of a grade A* or A, and 76% achieved an average of a grade C or higher.”
“Importantly, almost all students secured the grades required to progress onto their chosen destination beyond Campden. Just over 70% of our students will now move onto Higher Education study at university, with a range of other destinations including apprenticeships, a place at the very competitive Ashburton Chefs Academy in Devon and Helicopter Pilot training at Gloucestershire Airport.”
